The Prime Minister said that since the first meeting between the two countries, there has been energy, mutual trust and positivity in relations. He said, “There are very few people in the world whose resume includes leading the central banks of two countries. I credit my friend Prime Minister Carney for the momentum of our growing partnership.”
Prime Minister Modi also said that India and Canada aim to increase bilateral trade to $50 billion by 2030. He announced that the two leaders will soon finalize the India-Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
