About 90 lakh Indians have settled here, who came for employment, study or to visit, but are now living under the shadow of uncertainty and fear. Evacuation has become difficult due to closure of airspace due to air strikes.
Workers looking for shelter from the bomb
Let us tell you that Indians working as laborers in Gulf countries are now looking for a place to escape the bombs. A Dubai-based laborer said on social media that he had come in search of employment, but is now struggling to save his life. He is appealing to Prime Minister Modi to expel him soon. There is an atmosphere of fear among Indians living in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. There has been a flood of such appeals on social media.
Students asking for help by releasing video
Indian students studying in Iran are especially in danger. Medical and MBA students in Tehran are asking for help by releasing videos. A student told that the situation is very bad and the next moment is not known. About 2000 students of Jammu and Kashmir are stranded in Iran, for whom the association has sought intervention from the Prime Minister. Tourists have also been stuck in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where sirens and reports of attacks are common.
Foreign Ministry released helpline number
The Ministry of External Affairs has issued emergency helpline numbers for Indians stranded in the affected countries. These numbers are for medical, security and evacuation related help. The ministry said in the statement that it is keeping a close eye on the situation and appeals to all parties to exercise restraint. India believes that this crisis can be solved only through dialogue and diplomacy.
Safety of citizens is paramount
The ministry has expressed concern over the developments in Iran and the Gulf region. It has urged all parties to reduce tension, ensure the safety of civilians and respect sovereignty. The Indian Embassy is in touch with local authorities and is preparing for evacuation if needed. Stranded Indians have been advised to remain alert and connect with the helpline.
