Amazon India: Amazon’s unique gift to sellers; Zero referral fee on over 12.5 crore products

Amazon India: Amazon India today announced a massive fee waiver that will provide unique growth opportunities to millions of sellers across the country. As per last year’s fee changes, the company plans to increase the scope of the zero referral fee by more than 10 times from 1.2 crore products in 2025 to 12.5 crore products in 2026, with products priced below Rs 1,000 and across more than 1,800 categories. At the same time, Amazon has reduced the EasyShip charges by 20 percent on products priced below Rs 300.

With EasyShip, sellers can now ship their products from their location while Amazon takes care of the pickup and delivery. So that they can start their journey to enter e-commerce and also save on transportation costs. Sellers who ship multiple units from the same box can now save more than 90 percent of their selling fees on another unit, resulting in greater overall savings. This reduction in fees will be effective from March 16, 2026.

Going to increase the coverage of zero referral fee by more than 10 times. Zero referral fee will be applicable in over 1800 categories under Rs 1000, including T-shirts, shoes, earphones, bed sheets, sarees, electric kettles, coffee tables, chairs, pet accessories, fashion jewellery, toys and many more. Low Easy Ship Fees for over 20% of products priced below Rs 300, making it easy for sellers to ship from their premises. Under Sell More, Save More, sellers can now ship multiple units from the same box, saving more than 90 percent on another unit. 50 percent year-on-year growth in new sellers on Amazon.in.

Amit Nanda, Director, Selling Partner Services, Amazon India said, “Given the overwhelming response to our fee reduction last year, we are now extending our same commitment to benefit a larger number of sellers. This step is designed to make selling on Amazon.in more attractive and easy for small businesses and entrepreneurs in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The reduction in referral fees is available in over 1800 categories. 12.5 crore will be for products that will save transportation costs and save up to 70 percent in fees. Collectively, these changes will enable Amazon’s sellers to deliver efficiency to consumers.”

Sellers on Amazon.in can now choose from three fulfillment options: they can ship their orders directly to customers, opt for EasyShip (ES), in which they can place the product at their point of sale and Amazon takes care of the pick-up and delivery. Or they can opt for Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA/FC), in which storage, packing and shipping is done by Amazon on their behalf.

If a seller sells a necklace priced at Rs 999 through EasyShip (ES), he will save Rs 224 per unit, i.e. 69 per cent in total fees. Reduction in total fee from Rs.324 to Rs. 100 per unit (items weighing less than 500 grams). Sellers selling through the Fulfillment by Amazon (FC) channel who are selling earphones priced at Rs 798 will be able to save Rs 139 per unit, or 56 per cent, in total fees. Reduction in total fee will be from Rs.248 to Rs.109 per unit (items weighing less than 500 grams). A seller selling a t-shirt priced at Rs 299 through EasyShip (ES) will save Rs 15 per unit, i.e. 21 per cent, in total fees. The total fee savings is Rs. 71 from Rs. 56 per unit (items weighing less than 500 grams)
