On March 2, 2026, Val Chmerkovskiy shared a video on his Instagram account, updating his followers on his health from his hospital bed.

“What up, friends?” he said, beginning the video. “So, yeah. My bad. I ended up out here in Peoria. But the doc was cool. Shout out to Claire RPT at our tour and everybody on tour for rallying.”

The 39-year-old went on to explain that he’s been suffering from vertigo for the last couple of days. He added that despite his struggles, he was able to make it through his last show and later underwent a couple of tests. “Again, we’re on the bus. So, I guess that kind of wants that little crystal in your equilibrium,” he shared.

The Emmy nominee explained, “I mean, again, I’m learning a lot. Once it goes out, it’s like, it’s really hard to get it back in. I’m just spinning everywhere. And so on the bus, when it’s moving, I woke up, and I just couldn’t get myself together.”

The dancer concluded, “So, hopefully, tomorrow’s a day off. I’ll be back on Tuesday. Love you. Thank you.” The video ended with another short clip of him, with the on-screen text, “Blood work done. Vitals Checked. See you soon.” The post has garnered a lot of support and well-wishes from his co-stars and followers.

Chmerkovskiy is one of the many pro dancers who are currently on the Dancing with the Stars Live Tour. It is a live stage production featuring professional dancers from the reality dance competition, along with celebrity guest stars, performing ballroom routines across various cities. The tour will also see a guest appearance from Robert Irwin, the latest Mirrorball winner, between April 21 and 30, per the tour’s website.
