India will participate in the Modern Pythian Games for the first time, 41 young artists in Kyrgyzstan will get a chance to showcase their skills.

New Delhi: History will be created at the Modern Pythian Games when India sends its first national delegation of young artists to the first Youth Delphic Games for Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries in Bishkek.

India’s 65-member delegation will leave on March 22 for Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, which currently holds the chair of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). This is the first time that the Indian team will participate in these games being organized on the lines of international sports competitions. The Indian contingent also includes 41 young artists.

These include 21 artists from Delhi, 10 from Himachal Pradesh, four from Karnataka and one each from Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Uttarakhand and Haryana. The participants will compete in various genres including folk music, dance, singing, pop music, DJ art, visual arts, arts and crafts and piano.
