Police has made it clear that criminal cases will be registered against those who commit such acts and punitive action will be taken.

Stay away from fake offers and links

Police have appealed to people not to click on Holi offers or so-called ‘gift links’ received on social media, email or messages. Avoid downloading any type of app or file from unknown websites, as this can increase the risk of cyber fraud.

Be especially cautious in digital payments

Take special care while doing digital transactions. Use UPI, QR codes or payment links only from trusted sources. Do not share OTP, PIN or password with any unknown person, as this can lead to withdrawal of funds from the bank account.
