Before the assembly elections in Assam, BJP’s ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ is going on in full swing. Chief Minister during this visit in Gohpur Himanta Biswa Sarma Many personal and emotional moments related to this are also coming to light, which are becoming increasingly viral on social media. In a video, the CM is seen standing on a campaign vehicle decorated with flowers, wearing a traditional Assamese gamchha. A young man present in the crowd praised his watch. On hearing this, he took off his watch and gave it to the same young man.

Sarma said smilingly that when the boy liked the watch, he was happy to give it to him. Assam People also fondly call him ‘Mama’, because he often addresses the youth as ‘Bhagin’ (nephew).

Where did Jan Ashirwad Yatra start?

  • CM Sarma’s Jan Ashirwad Yatra has started from Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur district and will end on March 9, covering a distance of more than 400 kilometers and passing through many important assembly constituencies.
  • Dhekiajuli was chosen because it is considered a stronghold of BJP and people from different communities live here.
  • On the second day of the yatra, supporters gave ‘bulldozer salute’ to the CM in Jagiroad. Flowers were showered on him from the JCB machine.
  • Sarma termed it as support for the government’s land eviction action (remove encroachment campaign). He said that so far about 1.5 lakh bighas of land has been vacated and after the elections, 5 lakh more bighas of land will be vacated.
  • The Chief Minister said that the government is fully committed to protecting the land of forest and tribal areas from illegal encroachment.
  • During the visit, a large number of people came to meet him and thanked him for government jobs, land return and action against infiltration.
  • BJP is calling it a big campaign to directly communicate with the public before the elections and show the achievements of the government.
