Military action may last for weeks: Trump’s strict warning on Iran

Washington. US President Donald Trump has said that if necessary, the US military can continue attacking Iran for ‘four to five weeks’. He said that just as we have removed Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela to change the regime in Iran, the same may be required here too, so that most of the country is not affected too much.

In a brief telephone interview with The New York Times, US President Trump expressed his confidence in continuing the campaign and repeatedly pointed to a successful example in Latin America. “What we did in Venezuela, I think, is a perfect picture,” Trump said. He referred to the outcome in which only the top leader was removed, while most of the government remained in place. He further said, ‘Except two people, everyone has saved their jobs.’

When asked how long the US and Israel could continue the current level of attacks, Trump said, ‘Well, our intention was for four to five weeks.’ He further said, ‘It will not be difficult. We have too much ammunition. You know, we have ammunition stored in different countries around the world.

Nearly 36 hours after the fighting, US President Trump acknowledged the threat of American casualties and said, ‘As far as I’m concerned, even three is too many.’ If you look at the estimates, it could be much higher than that. We expect loss.

He also claimed that the joint US-Israeli strike had destroyed a large part of the Iranian navy, including nine ships and the navy headquarters.

Pressed on who will lead Iran after the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Trump said, ‘I have three very good options. I won’t tell them yet. Let’s complete the work first. He then brought up another possibility and suggested that it would be up to the Iranians to remove the current government. The US President said, ‘It will depend on them whether they do so or not. They’ve been talking about it for years, so now they’ll obviously have a chance.
