Former Pakistan bowler raised questions on India’s weak cricket

New Delhi: In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, the Indian cricket team has performed brilliantly and made its place in the semi-finals. On the other hand, Pakistan’s journey has ended in the Super-8 stage itself. Pakistan cricket has faced severe criticism after losing to India. Meanwhile, the recent statement of former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Aamir has given rise to a new debate.
Appreciation of Sanju Samson
After the match played between India and West Indies, Aamir praised Indian batsman Sanju Samson. He said that Samson played the best innings of his career when he scored unbeaten 97 runs in 50 balls while chasing the target. According to Aamir, such an innings would be considered a great performance on any big stage. However, he also said that the amazing innings of one player cannot hide the shortcomings of the entire team. In his view, India is still not playing balanced and effective cricket.
Comment on Aamir’s fielding
Along with praising Samson’s innings, Aamir also expressed his opinion on the fielding of the Indian team. He said that the team dropped many easy catches, which could prove dangerous in big matches. Talking about bowling, Aamir said that apart from Jasprit Bumrah, other bowlers looked under pressure and gave away runs. Along with this, Amir also pointed out that the team appeared to be overly dependent on a single bowler, which could be dangerous in the knockout rounds.
Aamir’s confrontation on social media
After India reached the semi-finals, Aamir is being criticized intensely on social media. In fact, he had predicted during the tournament that India would not qualify for the semi-finals. He had also said that even if Pakistan is out, India will also not be able to move forward. Now the Indian team will face England on March 5 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
India’s victory over West Indies
In the Super 8 match held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on March 1, West Indies gave India a target of 196 runs to win. Facing this challenge, India won the match with four balls to spare thanks to Sanju Samson’s charismatic unbeaten inning of 97 runs.
