Indore: Two corporation workers who came to clean the sewer tank died due to poisonous gas.

Indore. In Indore city of Madhya Pradesh, two Municipal Corporation employees died while cleaning the sewer tank on Monday evening. He suffocated due to the poisonous gas inside the tank.

According to the information, the Municipal Corporation employees were cleaning the 20-30 feet deep sewer near Choithram Mandi Gate in Zone-13 area at around 6:30 pm. The chamber was being emptied through a machine. Meanwhile, a part of an equipment/pipe being used for cleaning fell inside the chamber.

An employee descended down to remove part of the pipe. After some time there was no response from him. After this the second employee also entered the chamber. Both the workers were suffocated by the poisonous gas, rendering them unconscious inside the sewer tank.

Indore DCP Krishnalal Chandani said that with the help of the police, both the employees were taken out of the sewer and immediately taken to the hospital, but the doctors declared them dead. The deceased have been identified as Karan Yadav and Ajay Dodia. The police have taken the bodies into their custody and sent them for postmortem.

Rajendra Nagar police is investigating. Akbar, the employee present at the spot, told that when both of them did not come out for a long time, a sound was heard from inside. When we looked inside, we saw that both the employees were lying unconscious. After this Akbar was also brought down. During this time, Aman was also present on the spot, who works as a porter.

Aman Sem, who entered the sewer tank to save the corporation workers, said that he came to know that two people have drowned in the chamber. I tied a rope around my waist and descended into the chamber. Hook stuck to a man’s belt. During this time my mouth was filled with gas, then both of us came up.
