IRGC more powerful than Iran’s government, new shadow of fear in Middle East after Khamenei’s death

Iran Revolutionary Guard Security Crisis: Today a power has emerged in Iran which seems bigger than the elected government there. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps i.e. IRGC has now become not just a military force but a fearsome network. After the death of Supreme Leader Khamenei, the reins of this organization do not seem to be in anyone’s hands. There is now an atmosphere of deep concern and fear in the countries of the Middle East regarding this uncontrolled power.

A vast economic empire born of revolution

During the Islamic Revolution of 1979, this guard force was formed to protect Shia religious leaders. Gradually this force became parallel to the regular armed forces of the country and kept increasing its strength. Today this organization not only owns missiles but has established its roots in the entire economy of Iran.

The IRGC’s economic empire is so large that it controls sectors such as construction, roads, ports and telecommunications. Destructive weapons and independent military decisions

After Khamenei’s death, IRGC military units are now acting completely independently of their own free will. This situation is dangerous because they have a huge stockpile of missiles and drones in the world.

The recent attacks on countries like Oman and Qatar have been said to be not the choice of the government but the arbitrary will of the army. When a powerful army starts functioning without any central leadership, it becomes a threat to the entire region. For this reason, huge resentment and insecurity is now being seen in the Gulf countries regarding these independent military actions of Iran.

Axis of resistance and face of internal repression
