The Hundred Auction: List of marquee players announced, 10 players including Haris Rauf included

The Hundred Auction: Preparations for the auction of The Hundred Men’s League 2026 have intensified. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has released the list of shortlisted players and marquee players ahead of the auction to be held on March 12. This time, players from all over the world had registered to participate in the auction, which also included many big names from Pakistan. Players from almost all cricket playing countries except India have given their names for this league.

More presence of Pakistani players

A total of 710 players had registered for the auction of The Hundred. These included 63 players from Pakistan. However, after the initial process, now 243 players have been shortlisted, out of which 14 players from Pakistan have been successful in making the place.

The shortlisted Pakistani players include Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Tariq, Sam Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Amir, Zaman Khan, Usama Mir, Imad Wasim, Akif Javed and Salman Mirza. Good bids are expected from these players in the auction.

Announcement of list of marquee players

The players who will be bid on first before the auction are kept in the list of marquee players. Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf is included in this special list. Apart from them, England’s Jonny Bairstow, Adil Rashid, James Vince, Jordan Cox and Joe Root are also included among the marquee players.

Talking about foreign players, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Sunil Narine, Daryl Mitchell and Haris Rauf have got a place in this list. Bids will be placed on marquee players at the beginning of the auction itself, due to which the price of these players is likely to go high.

Joint statement regarding the selection process

The ECB and the eight franchises of the league recently issued a joint statement making it clear that the players will be selected keeping in mind the need, availability and performance of the team. This statement came after the report which claimed that some franchises associated with IPL will not bid on Pakistani players.

Haris Rauf has played in The Hundred before too

Haris Rauf has previously played for the Welsh Fire team in The Hundred and took a total of 16 wickets in two seasons. Recently, he also performed brilliantly in the Big Bash League and was among the bowlers taking the most wickets.

However, his availability will depend on the international schedule of the Pakistan team. To play in The Hundred, he will have to obtain a no-objection certificate from the Pakistan Cricket Board. Now all eyes are on the auction to be held on March 12, where the fate of many players will be decided.
