Money will be deposited in the accounts of daughters in Delhi, 61 thousand rupees will be deposited till graduation: What is ‘Lakhpati Beti Yojana’ of Delhi Government?
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday announced several welfare schemes for women and daughters on the occasion of Holi. During this, he launched ‘Delhi Lakhpati Beti Yojana’. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial security to daughters from birth till graduation. Under the scheme, the government will deposit Rs 61,000 in the account of every daughter who completes graduation. This amount will amount to approximately Rs 1.25 lakh on maturity. The Chief Minister said that with this initiative the daughters of Delhi will become ‘Lakhpati’ and they will be encouraged to pursue higher education.
Provision of Rs 128 crore
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that under ‘Delhi Lakhpati Beti Yojana’, a total of Rs 61,000 will be deposited by the government in a phased manner to the daughters from birth to graduation. This deposit amount along with interest will amount to approximately Rs 1.25 lakh on maturity. A provision of Rs 128 crore has been made in the budget for this scheme, which will ensure that all eligible daughters get financial security and adequate support for higher education.
Benefits available under Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana
‘Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana’ has been linked to ‘Dilli Laadli Yojana’, that is, the amount will start getting deposited in the account of the daughter from the moment she is born. Rs 11,000 will be deposited in the account at the time of birth. After this, during the studies till 12th, the amount will be deposited in a phased manner under the already implemented Delhi Ladli Scheme. Under the new system, an additional Rs 20,000 will be given on completion of graduation or diploma. The total amount deposited by the government will be Rs 61,000, which will translate into approximately Rs 1.25 lakh on maturity including interest.
Rs 11,000 at the time of birth

Rs 5,000-5,000 per stage for admission in 6th, 9th, 10th and 12th
Rs 20,000 on completion of graduation or diploma
Total benefit (including interest on maturity) around Rs 1,00,000
Which daughters will get the benefit of the scheme in Delhi?
Income Limit: The benefit will be available only to those families whose annual income is less than Rs 1.20 lakh.
That means the daughter will be able to avail the benefits of this scheme only if her monthly income is Rs 10,000 or less.
Residence: The applicant must have resided in Delhi for at least 3 years.
Vaccination: Daughter’s vaccination should be completed as per government rules.
Number of daughters: The benefit of the scheme will be available only up to 2 daughters.
Exemptions: Certain conditions are relaxed for girl children living in government or licensed care centres.
When will you get Rs 1 lakh under Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana?
Conditions and age limit for receiving the amount in ‘Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana’: Deposit amount is received after the daughter completes 18 or 21 years of age. If the daughter gets married before the age of 18 years, the benefit of the scheme will not be available. The daughter must have completed 12th pass, polytechnic or ITI course and must be 18 years of age. If the daughter has completed graduation or diploma, the amount will be received on completion of 21 years of age.

Saheli Pink Smart Card is not just for travel convenience, but it has been termed as ‘Dignity Card’. This is in line with the Prime Minister’s ‘One Nation, One Card’ vision. The card can be used on DTC buses and other public transport modes, giving women easy access to freedom, security, employment and education opportunities.
Apart from this, the Chief Minister said to ensure respect and relief in the kitchen, the promise of providing free gas cylinders on Holi and Diwali has been fulfilled. Under this, the amount was sent to the accounts of eligible beneficiaries through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), which will provide financial support to women.
