Budget Haryana keeps an eye on Punjab, keeps an eye on OBC voters but gave nothing

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini presented the state budget yesterday on March 2. There was no shocking announcement in this budget. The ruling party called the budget good while the opposition called it just a bunch of speeches. Apart from the budget, everyone noticed one important thing and started discussing in the political circles that a glimpse of Punjab is being seen in the budget of Haryana. This is because on the budget day, when the eyes of the entire country were on Haryana, the Haryana CM reached the assembly wearing a turban on his head as per the beliefs of Sikh religion.

Let us tell you that assembly elections are to be held in Punjab early next year. Bharatiya Janata Party has made every effort to win these elections. Early in the morning on the budget day, CM Saini was seen wearing a saffron colored turban and signing the budget copy. After this, he also gave a speech in the Assembly wearing the same turban.

This is not the first time that CM Saini has worn a turban. Even before this, he had worn turban many times and had also come to the assembly, but on the budget day, he wore this turban and gave a message to the entire Punjab. Apart from this, he also took the name of Sikh Gurus in his budget speech. He said, ‘The budget is not the accounting of the government, but is inspired by the words of the saint tradition, which says ‘Kirat Kar, Naam Jaap, Vand Chhak.’ According to Sikhism, wearing a turban and mentioning Gurus in speech is not just a coincidence but a deliberate politics. BJP wants to give a message to the Sikhs that it is with them.

CM Saini active in Punjab

Ever since Haryana CM Saini took oath as CM for the second time, he has been continuously active in Punjab. Be it going to Punjab to hold a rally or meeting Punjab’s businessmen and artists at the CM’s residence, CM Saini is constantly trying to make inroads in Punjab. Active in the areas bordering Haryana. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is campaigning like a star campaigner for BJP before the Punjab Assembly elections to be held next year. BJP is promoting Haryana model in Punjab and is calling it the guarantee of development.

Saini empty handed while eyeing Saini voters

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini comes from OBC community. There are more than 30 percent OBC voters in Punjab. By appointing Nayab Singh Saini as its face, BJP wants to strengthen its base among the Saini community and OBC community in Punjab and wants to attract OBC voters to its fold. However, no major announcements were made for the OBC category in the Haryana budget. The only announcement has been made to give 10 percent reservation to OBC category in industrial plots. Even though BJP is eyeing the OBC voters in Punjab, nothing special has been announced for them in the budget. CM Saini had recently said in one of his rallies in Punjab that BJP is the only party which made Saini’s son the CM.

What did political experts say?

Looking at the activism of Haryana CM in Punjab, political analyst Dr. Satish Tyagi said that Haryana CM has one foot in Haryana and the other foot in Punjab. He believes that BJP does not have any big face in Punjab, hence through the policies of Haryana, an attempt is being made to show Punjab that the BJP government is a supporter of Sikhs.
