Man jumped into fire on Holika Dahan, video going viral on social media; what is the whole matter
UP News: A shocking video has emerged from Mathura. During Holika Dahan, a young man was seen jumping into the burning fire dressed as Prahlad. It is seen in the video that strong flames are rising all around and meanwhile the young man fearlessly walks out of the fire. The special thing is that it appears completely safe.
What is the story behind the video?
This unique tradition was performed in Phalen village near Vrindavan. The name of the young man passing through the fire is Sanju Panda. He told that this is not a stunt but a religious tradition that has been going on for centuries. For this one has to observe a strict fast for one and a quarter month and follow the rules.

Rituals begin from Basant Panchami
According to Sanju Panda, this ritual starts from Basant Panchami and continues till Holika Dahan. During this period celibacy is followed. Distance is maintained from family and one is not allowed to go beyond the limits of the village. The most important thing is that food is sacrificed for the entire month and a quarter.
