‘Nishant is a copy of Nitish Kumar’, why did JDU leaders suddenly start praising him?

Elections are to be held for five Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar and meanwhile the name of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar has started rising again. Regarding Nishant Kumar, who was away from active politics till now, many senior leaders of Janata Dal (United) have now started openly saying that his entry into politics is certain. JDU leader and Bihar government minister Shravan Kumar has said that it has been decided that Nishant will enter politics and now only the formal announcement is left. He has called it a ‘Holi gift’. At the same time, JDU leader Ashok Chaudhary says that Nishant Kumar is a copy of his father Nitish Kumar in body language, gestures and many other things.

It is discussed that to capture the five seats of Bihar, the effort of JDU and BJP is to field such leaders whom no one will oppose. One name being considered is that of BJP’s new national president Nitin Naveen and now Nishant Kumar’s name has also come into discussion. Actually, among those who went to Rajya Sabha from JDU are the names of current Deputy Speaker Harivansh Narayan Singh and Ramnath Thakur. At the same time, Manish Verma is also staking his claim. There are speculations that Nishant can be sent to Rajya Sabha to stop this conflict due to claims. However, Nitish Kumar has never talked about Nishant coming into politics.

What were JDU leaders saying?

Now referring to Nishant Kumar, JDU leader Shravan Kumar has said, ‘On the occasion of Holi, I want to say one thing that which is being discussed across the state for a long time, Nishant Kumar is being discussed. On this occasion, I want to tell you that Nishant ji’s entry into politics is going to happen very soon. He will enter very active politics. On the occasion of Holi, this is a Holi gift for the people and youth of the state. All our leaders will decide what will be the role of Nishant. All I can say is that his entry into politics is certain and only the formal announcement is left.

Praising Nishant Kumar, Bihar government minister Ashok Chaudhary has said, ‘We have been saying this for a long time. This is a big Holi gift for JDU family. Whatever role he gets, he should be in active politics. He is an educated engineer and is close to Nitish ji. He is the real photocopy of Nitish ji. Be it decency or body language, he is a copy of Nitish ji. He is coming on the demand of party workers, there was a lot of pressure on Nitish ji for this. We also spoke for the same reason.

JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar has also given similar indications. He says, ‘He is cultured and fit for political life, he should definitely enter politics. Our party’s working presidents Sanjay Jha, Vijay Chaudhary and Shravan Kumar have already said this. Our hope is that such people come into politics. The top leadership of the party will decide who will go to Rajya Sabha, but can anyone question the eligibility?
