“After winning BJP will drive out every infiltrator”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a public meeting in West Bengal on Monday (March 2), launched a strong attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her party Trinamool Congress. Speaking at the Parivartan rally held in Mathurapur, Shah said that at present “only the names of infiltrators are being removed from the voter list but as soon as the Bharatiya Janata Party wins majority in the state, every infiltrator will be thrown out of Bengal.”

He alleged that the Trinamool Congress had made Bengal a “paradise for infiltrators”. Shah said, “Bengal is a border state. TMC cannot ensure security as they allow infiltration. Only BJP can give security to a border state like Bengal.”

This statement came in the context of the voter list released after Special Intensive Revision (SIR) on February 28, which revealed deletion of 63.66 lakh names since November. Due to this the total number of voters has reduced to approximately 7.04 crores.

Shah said, “I want to assure the Hindu refugees that not a single one of them will lose their citizenship. Right now only names are being removed from the voter list and Mamata didi is nervous. After the formation of the BJP government, we will identify every infiltrator and throw them out.”

He accused Mamata Banerjee of failing in border security and said corruption and infiltration will end after the BJP government comes to power. Shah also alleged that the Chief Minister is “busy inaugurating temples while giving permission for the construction of Babri Masjid in Bengal.”

Target on Abhishek Banerjee

Shah claimed that the Trinamool Congress government was working in the interest of Abhishek Banerjee rather than the people of the state. He said, “Mamata Banerjee’s aim is not the welfare of the people of Bengal. She wants to make Abhishek Banerjee the chief minister.”

Appealing to the youth, he said, “Your name cannot be in the list of TMC, your name can only be in the list of Narendra Modi’s party. BJP is the only party which does not do politics of dynasticism.”

Referring to Rabindranath Tagore’s dream of ‘Sonar Bangla’, Shah said that now the time has come to realize it. He warned that if TMC is voted for this time too, “Bhaipo” will rule.

Panchayat election violence and strong message

Referring to the violence during the state’s panchayat elections, Shah said BJP workers were attacked, many lost their lives and many are still missing. He said, “Mamata Banerjee, do you think BJP will be scared of your attacks? We have the strength to bear it. Bring Kamal’s government, we will straighten Mamata Banerjee’s goons by hanging them upside down and send everyone to jail.”

Shah clarified that “change” does not just mean changing the chief minister, but freeing Bengal from infiltration and corruption. He informed that nine Parivartan Yatras are being taken out across the state. Some yatras have already started, which were inaugurated by BJP national president Nitin Nabin.

The drive is part of a statewide political campaign ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, which will cover a distance of approximately 5,000 kilometres. It is proposed to conclude with a massive rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata.

Home Minister Shah announced that the 7th Pay Commission will be implemented within 45 days if the BJP government is formed. He alleged that the state government is ignoring the issue of unemployment and is only doing subsidy politics.

He assured that the recruitment process will be started on all vacant government posts from December 26 and the youth will be given special age relaxation of five years. He also alleged that the state government was ignoring the Supreme Court order on payment of dearness allowance.
