Before Holi, this government bank gave a shock, reduced the interest on FD, know how much return you will get now?

Public sector Bank of India has announced new interest rates for fixed deposits (FD Rates) before Holi. The interest rate for selected tenures has been reduced by 10 bps. Now customers will get lower returns than before on the special FD scheme “Star Swarnim”. The new rates have come into effect from March 2, 2025. Apart from this, the bank has also changed the interest rates of non-callable fixed deposits, in which withdrawal is not allowed before maturity.

After the amendment, the bank is offering 6.60% interest on Star Swarnim Scheme. Earlier the interest rate for general citizens was 6.70%. Now senior citizens will get 7.10% return instead of 7.20%. You can invest in this for 450 days. There has been no change in the interest rate for the remaining tenure. The interest rate for general citizens ranges from 3% to 6.60 percent.

Senior citizens will get additional interest

The bank is offering 0.50% interest to senior citizens (60 years to less than 80 years) and 0.65% interest to super senior citizens on all tenures between 6 months to less than 3 years. All banks keep revising the interest rates on fixed deposits from time to time. Therefore, before investing, it is advised to visit the official website of the bank or the nearest branch.

Interest rates for FDs above Rs 1 crore

Bank of India is offering 6.40% to 6.70% interest on deposits between Rs 1 crore and less than Rs 3 crore. Investment can be made in this from 1 year to 3 years. The bank is offering interest up to 7.15% on non-callable deposits between Rs 10 crore and less than Rs 25 crore. Investment can be made in this from 1 year to 3 years. The bank is offering 4.90% to 7.08% interest to common citizens on callable deposits of less than Rs 10 crore to Rs 25 crore. One can invest in this for 7 days to 10 years. It is offering interest ranging from 4.90% to 7.08% on investments of Rs 25 crore or more.

  • 15 to 30 days – 3%
  • 31 to 45 days – 3%
  • 46 to 90 days – 4.50%
  • 91 to 179 days – 4.25%
  • 180 to 210 days – 5.50%
  • From 211 days to 269 days – 5.50%
  • 270 days to less than 1 year – 5.50%
  • 1 year- 6.25%
  • More than 1 year and less than 2 years – 6.30%
  • 450 days- 6.60%
  • From 2 years to less than 3 years – 6.30%
  • From 3 years to less than 5 years – 6.25%
  • From 5 years to less than 8 years – 6%
  • From 8 years to 10 years – 6%
