RCB to play five home matches at Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2026

In exciting news for local fans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will compete at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2026. Out of their seven home matches, five will be held at the iconic stadium.

After concerns over the stadium’s future due to the tragic stampede during the celebrations, which claimed 11 lives and left 50 injured, a new resolution has been reached. It was the result of close collaboration between the franchise, Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), and local authorities.

“RCB expresses its heartfelt thanks to the Government of Karnataka, the Karnataka State Cricket Association, and the Karnataka Police for their support. The collective efforts to enhance infrastructure and safety measures ahead of the IPL season have made it possible for the defending champions to play most of their home games at their iconic home ground.”

The remaining two home fixtures for RCB will take place at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur. RCB CEO Rajesh Menon has confirmed the outcome.

“The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is not just our home venue, it’s where our team’s identity is brought to life. The passion and energy our fans bring to Bengaluru have always fueled our players, motivating them. Our supporters have stood by us through thick and thin, and they truly deserve the chance to watch their team play on home soil,” Rajesh Menon said.

“Following discussions and the completion of all necessary procedures for obtaining permissions, we are happy to announce that RCB will host five matches in Bengaluru. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Government of Karnataka, the KSCA, and the Karnataka Police for their support in making this a reality,” he added.
