Engineer wife commits suicide by hanging in Bengaluru, family alleges dowry harassment

Bengaluru: A tragic incident in the capital of Karnataka has shocked everyone. A 35-year-old software engineer living in Bengaluru allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her house. According to initial information, this step was taken after a domestic dispute. After the incident, sensation spread in the area and the police has started investigating the matter. This case pertains to Abbigere area under Soladevanahalli police station limits of Bengaluru.

According to the police, the woman was found dead in her house. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot, took possession of the body and started further action. The deceased has been identified as Sushma (35). She had earlier worked in Dell company. She was married to Puneet Kumar about five years ago. The couple also has a four-year-old son.

Domestic dispute became the reason?

Preliminary police investigation has revealed that Sushma used to have frequent fights in the house. It is being told that there was tension over small matters. On Tuesday, there was allegedly an altercation between Sushma and her mother-in-law Kalpana over cooking. Sushma’s family has alleged that her mother-in-law repeatedly stopped her from working in the kitchen and also harassed her about other things. The family says that due to this mental pressure, Sushma took this step.

Husband arrested, search for mother-in-law continues

The maternal side of the deceased has lodged a complaint with the police alleging dowry harassment. On the basis of the complaint, the police have arrested husband Puneet Kumar. Whereas mother-in-law Kalpana is said to be absconding and search is on for her.

A case has been registered at Soladevanahalli police station. Officials are busy understanding the entire incident and investigating all aspects. Police say that the situation will be clear only after the investigation is completed. After this incident, everyone’s eyes are on the police investigation, so that the truth can come out.
