More than 50 crore viewers have watched this tournament held in India so far, which is a big record in the history of T20 World Cup.
The ICC had set ambitious targets for viewership before the start of the tournament and the organization has been successful in achieving all those targets. Jay Shah wrote on social media platform
The number of viewers on Jio Hotstar reached 6.5 crores.
He further said that the tournament is getting tremendous response on digital platforms also. The number of viewers on Jio Hotstar has reached 6.5 crores. The knockout matches begin tonight and the ICC is hopeful that the enthusiasm of the Indian fans will set more new records.

Although the tournament has two semi-finals and a final still to go, the current edition has already surpassed the viewership record of the T20 World Cup to be played in the US in 2024. ICC’s digital platform ICC.tv has also surpassed the figures of total users and total minutes watched during the 2024 edition. Compared to the previous version, there has been a 28 percent increase in unique users, while the total watch time has increased by 56 percent.

T20 World Cup 2026 close to breaking another record
The current edition of the T20 World Cup is touching new dimensions on social media too. Video views on ICC’s official platforms have crossed 10 billion and are on pace to surpass the record of 16 billion set in 2024. This edition is also proving to be historic in terms of fan engagement. The average watch time per unique user has reached 58 minutes, up from 47 minutes by the end of the Super-8 stage in 2024. It is clear that viewers are staying connected to the matches for longer periods than before. There are three more matches to go, so it is expected that many more records will be made.
