Rekha Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated the four-day Flower Festival 2026 organized by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) at the Central Park in Connaught Place. On this occasion, many dignitaries including NDMC Chairman Keshav Chandra, Vice Chairman Kuljit Singh Chahal were present. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister said that being the capital of the country, it is the collective responsibility of all of us to make Delhi more beautiful, clean and attractive. He said that such events not only enhance the beauty of the city but also create awareness among the people about environmental protection and green initiatives.

The Chief Minister said, “There was a time when people used to go to Kashmir to see tulips, but today due to the efforts of NDMC, tulips and other beautiful flowers can be seen in Delhi itself.” Terming this event as ‘Selfie Festival’, he said that this festival has become an occasion of joy and enthusiasm for the citizens. A large number of people are reaching here, taking pictures among the flowers and spending time with the family. CM said that it is the collective responsibility of all of us to make the capital more beautiful, clean and attractive. Such events not only enhance the beauty of the city but also spread awareness towards the environment.

The capital is drenched in fragrances from the flower festival.

Rekha Gupta said during the Flower Festival 2026 organized by New Delhi Municipal Council in Central Park, Connaught Place, that this flower festival organized in the month of Phalgun is drenching the capital with colors and fragrances. Praising the gardeners and officials of the Horticulture Department of NDMC, the Chief Minister said that due to their tireless work the entire area has bloomed with flowers. He said that other departments should also take inspiration from these efforts and work towards making every area of ​​Delhi green and beautiful.

CM especially praised the attractive floral structures, pyramid shapes and diverse flower arrangements developed by NDMC. He expressed confidence that if hard work continues like this, the whole of Delhi can be decorated with flowers. The Chief Minister appealed to all the people of Delhi to come to this beautiful flower festival with their families, enjoy the beautiful flowers of spring and participate in the resolve to make Delhi clean, beautiful and green.

18 theme based section colors

Held in the Central Park at Connaught Place, the festival showcases more than 15,500 potted plants of 48 different species in 18 different sections. Groups of seasonal flowers like Dahlia, Petunia, Pansy, Salvia and Marigold are attracting the audience. The entire campus decorated with colorful flowers is spreading the colors of spring. Tray gardens, landscape gardens, large-sized hanging baskets and terrariums are special attractions in the festival. Apart from this, Eastern and Western style flower arrangement (Ikebana) has also been displayed.

Floral figures with animal and bird motifs, colorful floral boards and pyramidal, heart shaped, conical and cylinder shaped floral structures have been specially developed as selfie points, where a large number of people are taking photographs.

Free entry for citizens

This four-day flower festival organized by New Delhi Municipal Council will be open free to the general public from March 3 to March 6, 2026. In this festival organized in the Central Park located at Connaught Place, citizens will be able to enjoy the natural beauty of blooming flowers to the fullest.

Along with the flower exhibition, many useful stalls have also been set up in the premises. Materials related to nursery plants, bonsai, cactus and succulents, herbal plants and hydroponics are available here. Apart from this, gardening tools, seeds, pots, fertilizers and decorative materials are also being sold, so that people interested in gardening can buy the things they need at one place.
