Indian players reached Siddhivinayak temple before the semi-finals, took blessings from Bappa.
The Indian team will play the semi-final match against England at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday (March 4). Before this knockout match, Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma and Akshar Patel reached Siddhivinayak temple to have darshan of Ganpati Bappa.
After being out on ‘zero’ in 3 consecutive innings of this World Cup, Abhishek Sharma scored 15 runs against South Africa, after which he played an inning of 55 runs against Zimbabwe. After this he scored 10 runs against West Indies. Fans have high expectations from this opening batsman in the knockout match.
On the other hand, Ishan Kishan, after scoring half-centuries against Namibia and Pakistan, played an inning of 38 runs in the Super-8 match against Zimbabwe. The country is expecting a big innings from him in the upcoming match. Akshar Patel had taken 2-2 wickets against USA, Namibia and Pakistan in this World Cup. After this he took 1 wicket against Zimbabwe. Fans have high expectations from him not only in bowling but also in batting.
Team India reached the Super-8 by winning four consecutive group stage matches against USA, Namibia, Pakistan and Netherlands, where after losing by 76 runs against South Africa, India defeated Zimbabwe by 72 runs. After this, Team India got the ticket for the semi-finals by defeating West Indies by 5 wickets in the decisive match.
On the other hand, after winning by 4 runs against Nepal, England had to face defeat against West Indies. However, after this England qualified for the Super-8 by defeating Scotland and Italy, where they made it to the semi-finals by defeating Sri Lanka, Pakistan and New Zealand.
So far 5 matches have been played between India and England in the T20 World Cup, in which India won 3 matches. For the last two World Cups, the winner of the England vs India semi-final match has lifted the trophy.
