S-400 showed strength in ‘Operation Sindoor’

The S-400 proved its usefulness during the recent ‘Operation Sindoor’. This system made it difficult for the Pakistan Air Force to fly across the Indus River. Several Pakistani fighter jets and electronic intelligence platforms were intercepted through this. On 10 May, an Indian Brahmos missile attack destroyed Pakistan’s Chaklala Airbase and command center in Rawalpindi, after which Pakistan demanded peace. The S-400 proved to be India’s bulwark throughout this campaign.

How much will India’s military strength increase?

Currently India has 3 squadrons of S-400 deployed. As per the original agreement signed in 2018, India is likely to receive the remaining 2 squadrons by the end of this year. With the new contract, India will have a total of 10 squadrons. This will strengthen India’s grip on the eastern and western borders from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh.
