Release date of ‘Toxic’ changed amid tough competition from ‘Dhurandhar 2’, Yash told the reason

New Delhi: There has been a big change in the release of Kannada superstar Yash’s much awaited film ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown Ups’. This film was scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, but now it has been postponed to June 4, 2026.

The main reason behind this decision is said to be the ongoing tension in the Middle East and the increasing conflict between Iran and America. At the same time, Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ (Dhurandhar 2) will now be released on March 19 without any conflict.

Middle East tensions changed release plans

Yash issued a statement on March 4 on behalf of his production houses Monster Mind Creations and KVN Productions. It said that due to the current uncertainty and unstable situation in the Middle East, there is difficulty in reaching the film to a wider audience. Especially the functioning of theaters is being affected in Gulf countries, which is a big market for films. Therefore the release date of the film had to be changed.

The producers took this step on the advice of their distribution partner Fars Films. Wrote in the statement, "We thank the audience for their understanding and patience. We look forward to your love and support."

Yash himself has co-written ‘Toxic’ directed by Geetu Mohandas. This film has been made in English and Kannada and has been prepared with the aim of connecting with the audience around the world. Apart from Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasant and Tara Sutaria are in lead roles in the film.

The first song of the film ‘Tabaahi’ was released on March 2, which was highly praised, but the fans were a little angry due to the video not being released. The trailer launch was planned in Bengaluru on March 8, but now all this has been affected due to change in the release date.

‘Dhurandhar 2’ got benefit

Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ will now hit the theaters alone on March 19. Directed by Aditya Dhar, this film also stars actors like Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Khanna. Earlier it was going to clash with Yash’s ‘Toxic’, but now it is releasing without any clash. The film will release on the weekend of festivals like Eid, Gudi Padwa and Ugadi, which is expected to perform well at the box office.
