Jagan’s sharp attack on Naidu, making Tirumala temple a political platform

Amravati. YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been seriously accused of making Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam a platform for his political selfishness. In a social media post on Wednesday, the former Chief Minister raised questions about Naidu’s devotion towards Lord Venkateswara and honesty in temple management.

Tirumala Temple, the center of faith of crores of devotees, is the abode of Lord Venkateswara, the living deity of Kaliyuga. This sacred responsibility should be entrusted to such persons who have unwavering faith, impeccable character and complete loyalty. Jagan said that Naidu had defiled it for political gains.

TTD Chairman B.R. Citing the allegations against Naidu, Jagan said that before the elections, a woman had written a letter to Naidu complaining of cheating and harassment by the Chairman. Women who came for small tasks were harassed, yet Naidu ignored these allegations and made him the chairman, which hurt the dignity of the temple.

Jagan said, ‘A true devotee will never make such an appointment.’ Naidu’s negligence was also exposed in the ghee controversy of Tirumala Laddu Prasad. The substandard ghee rejected during his tenure was later accepted under different names, as recorded in the CBI-SIT charge sheet.

Now Naidu is trying to create political controversy by blaming others. Earlier the prices of ghee were Rs 278-330 per kg, but in 2025 it was purchased from a company close to him at Rs 658 per kg. Due to this, the purchase of the temple was made a means of personal gain.

These incidents prove the lack of devotion, honesty and integrity in Naidu. Tirumala issue is becoming heated in Andhra politics.
