Kannada superstar Yash’s much awaited film Toxic has decided to stay away from the release date of Dhurandhar 2 film. The makers issued an official statement on Wednesday (March 4) saying that there is uncertainty regarding the release due to the current situation and US-Iran tension. For this reason the scheduled release of the film has been postponed.
Earlier this film was scheduled to release on Eid 2026, where it was going to have a direct competition with Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge. Now after postponing the release, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ will get a solo release on Eid.
According to the producers, Toxic will now be released in theaters on June 4, 2026. However, with the new date the film is caught in a new box office competition. Varun Dhawan’s film ‘Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ is going to be released on 5 June 2026. This film is directed by David Dhawan.
Although there is a difference of one day in the release of both the films, but both will be in theaters on the same weekend, due to which a direct competition at the box office is considered certain. Debate has started on social media regarding this new clash.
The producers have clarified in their statement that the film has been postponed due to the circumstances in the Middle East. However, some people on social media are also seeing this as a strategy to avoid a possible clash over the Eid release, as ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is being counted among the most awaited films of the year.
Now the eyes of the industry are fixed on the first weekend of June 2026, when there will be a direct box office competition between two big films. This contest will decide which way the audience’s preferences lean and which film gets the initial lead.
