The Meteorological Department (IMD) has released the weather condition in various parts of the country for March 05, 2026. With the beginning of March, the effect of heat has intensified in many states of North India, while rain alert has been issued in the North-East and Himalayan regions.
Weather Forecast: As the month of March begins, scorching heat has started in many states of North India, due to which people are facing abnormal heat. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding the coming days and said that there is a possibility of rain in 5 states. Along with this, there is also a possibility of strong winds, which can make the weather more turbulent.
The states for which special alert has been issued include Uttarakhand, Assam, Sikkim, Meghalaya and Jammu and Kashmir. Farmers, travelers and local people in these states have been advised to be alert about the weather. Apart from this, a new Western Disturbance is expected to arrive in the Western Himalayan region from March 6, which may bring further changes in the weather there and increase the risk of rain and stormy winds.
Rain alert in five states
The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Uttarakhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Jammu and Kashmir. There has been a warning of light to moderate rain and strong winds in these states. Apart from this, a new Western Disturbance is expected to become active in the Western Himalayan region from March 6. There is a possibility of rain in Chamoli, Champawat, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh districts of Uttarakhand on March 8 and 9.
At the same time, in Solan, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra and Mandi of Himachal Pradesh, there may be light to moderate rain along with snowfall in higher altitude areas from March 7 to 9.
Weather in Delhi and UP: Heat increases, wind will provide relief
The temperature is increasing rapidly in the country’s capital Delhi in March. The day temperature can reach a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius on March 05. However, wind speed of 10-15 kilometers per hour will blow in the afternoon, which will provide relief in pollution and decline in AQI. There will be effect of heat on the occasion of Holi in Uttar Pradesh. The maximum temperature in Lucknow is expected to be 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 17 degrees Celsius.
Temperature is also going to increase in Kanpur, Bareilly, Mathura, Agra, Mainpuri, Banda, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Balrampur, Gonda, Bahraich, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Ballia, Azamgarh and Mau.
Weather in Bihar and Rajasthan
Heat will also increase in 12 districts of Bihar. The maximum temperature in Patna is likely to be 31 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be 18 degrees Celsius. Seemanchal areas may remain cloudy with moderate wind speed. The heat will increase in Rajasthan also on the occasion of Holi. The maximum temperature in Jaipur is expected to be 34 degrees Celsius and minimum 19 degrees Celsius. Temperature may also increase in Ajmer, Banswara, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bikaner and Baran.
Weather of Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir
The maximum temperature in Bhopal can be 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be 19 degrees Celsius. The effect of heat will also increase in other districts of the state like Khajuraho, Chhatarpur, Gwalior, Katni, Vidisha, Datia, Sidhi and Khargone. Wind can blow at a speed of 10-12 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature of Dehradun in Uttarakhand is expected to be 26 degrees Celsius and minimum 14 degrees Celsius. In Manali, Himachal Pradesh, the maximum will be 8 degrees Celsius and the minimum will be minus 3 degrees Celsius.
There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and rise in temperature in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. The weather will be hot in Jammu, Samba, Kathua and Reasi. Coastal areas of Gujarat will remain hot and humid on March 5 and 6. The temperature is also likely to rise in some areas of Konkan on March 5.
