Meat and fish being cooked in a pure vegetarian hotel next to Ujjain Mahakal Temple! CCTV footage created a stir on social media

New Delhi: ‘Samrat Vikramaditya The Heritage Hotel’ of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Corporation (MPT), located right near the world famous Mahakal Temple of Ujjain, is surrounded in controversy these days. The CCTV footage that went viral on social media has created panic among the people.

It is being claimed that in this hotel, which claims to be completely vegetarian, non-veg (meat-fish) is being cooked secretly. This hotel is just 100 meters away from Mahakal Temple, where devotees from all over the country come.

CCTV footage viral

The video spread on social media purportedly shows CCTV footage of the hotel’s kitchen. In the video, employees are heard talking, e.g. "Cock and fish have touched hands, wash hands thoroughly". It is alleged that while cooking non-veg, the angle of CCTV cameras is deliberately changed so that no one can see.

Many people are saying that the hotel staff and officials cook and eat this food for themselves at night. Seeing this news, the sentiments of the devotees are hurt, because non-veg is completely banned in Mahakal area.

Manager’s reply: It was ‘Dahi Ke Sholay’, not non-veg.

Hotel manager Satish Pathak has termed all the allegations as completely false. He said that the ingredients seen in the video are actually the hotel’s famous veg dish ‘Dahi Ke Sholay’. It uses cheese, vegetables and curd, but the video has been presented in a wrong way.

The manager says that this video has been made and made viral by some former employees, who had left the job 3-4 months ago. They want to defame the hotel.

FIR lodged with police

The manager has lodged an FIR against this false propaganda in Mahakal police station. He has demanded strict action against the culprits. The hotel administration says that they fully respect the dignity of the Mahakal temple and the faith of the devotees. The hotel is pure vegetarian and no kind of non-veg is cooked here.

Due to its proximity to Mahakal Temple, this hotel is very popular among the devotees. People consider it to be pure vegetarian and stay here. In such a situation, the viral video has hurt the sentiments of many people. The matter is still under investigation. The truth will come out only after police investigation. At present the hotel has given clarification and taken legal action.
