TVK chief Vijay gave a big statement on postponing Jana Nayagan release, said – ‘You can silence me but…’
The actor was at the center of both Tamil Nadu’s politics and cinema. Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Chief Thalapathy Vijay addressing supporters in Thanjavur on Tuesday, March 4 Jana Naygan Gave an open statement on the postponement of its release. From the election platform, he criticized the state’s ruling DMK government and Chief Minister M.K. Also directly attacked Stalin.
“Listen, the next government will be formed by TVK only. Fishermen, have hope, you will have complete security. During the release of the film Jana Nayagan, many people expressed their support, even our Chief Minister extended his support. For this I thank him. Chief Minister, you can try to silence me, but you cannot silence every Vijay of every house. Our campaign has already started.” — Thalapathi Vijay
This statement comes at a time when Vijay is seen in constant political mode and sharpening the election message along with the organizational expansion of his party TVK. His focus at the Thanjavur gathering was not just films; He linked it directly to the political narrative and tried to send a message to his supporters that his campaign is now election-centric.
Challenge to DMK on assembly elections
During the meeting, Vijay made reference to the election contest in the language of cricket. He alleged that DMK is projecting the upcoming assembly elections as “Tamil Nadu team versus Delhi team”, but this narrative will not last. According to him, TVK will emerge as the decisive force in the elections.
“In the upcoming assembly elections, DMK is projecting it as a contest between Tamil Nadu team versus Delhi team. But even in cricket, Delhi team cannot stand against Tamil Nadu team. Tamil Nadu is TVK and TVK is Tamil Nadu. All the talk like Tamil Nadu team versus Delhi team will end now, only TVK team will win.” — Thalapathi Vijay
This statement of Vijay is being considered politically important because he tried to link his election line among the party supporters with the claim of organizational victory instead of emotional-regional debate. Besides, he also directly addressed the voters of coastal areas by mentioning the safety of fishermen.
Why is the release of ‘Jana Nayagan’ in discussion?
Jana Naygan Earlier the information was that the film was to be released on January 9, 2026. However, its date was postponed just two days before its release. The makers of the film officially said that “due to some reasons the release of the film has been postponed” and information will be shared as soon as a new date is received. At present the new release date has not been announced.
The film is directed by H. Vinoth. In this, Prakash Raj, Pooja Hegde and Mamitha Baiju will be seen along with Vijay. This film is also in the headlines because it is being said to be Vijay’s last film. He has already indicated that now his primary focus will be on politics and expansion of TVK.
Clear shift from cinema to politics
The Thanjavur rally made it clear that Vijay is no longer keeping films and politics in separate boxes in his public programmes. Even while reacting to an entertainment related issue like postponement of release, he kept the election message at the center. This style is being considered an indication of the next direction of his campaign—where the language of public meeting, organization and political competition is running together.
Right now two things are going on in parallel: one, Jana Naygan Awaiting the new release date of; Two, increasing aggression from TVK regarding assembly elections. Thanjavur’s speech is being seen as the latest episode of this double front.
