There was chaos near Kalash Hotel in the Gas Godown area under Obra police station area of the district when an uncontrolled Toyota Fortuner hit a bike rider hard. It was fortunate that the bike rider saved his life by jumping from the vehicle in time, otherwise the consequences could have been very dire.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when a white Fortuner coming at a high speed hit the bike from the front. The collision was so severe that the bike was blown to pieces. Local people say that a girl was driving the car and a young man was also traveling with her. The bike rider showed agility and jumped, which saved his life. Immediately after the accident, the young man and the girl in the car fled from the spot, leaving the vehicle or taking advantage of the situation.
It is being told that the luxury car involved in the accident belongs to a very influential businessman. The most shocking thing is that this accident happened just a short distance away from Obra police station. There is deep anger among the local residents over such careless driving in a residential and crowded area. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and took both the vehicles (bike and Fortuner) into their custody.
The police have started investigating the matter and are searching for the absconding accused. This incident once again raises a question mark on the vehicles running unbridled in the residential areas of the city. Has it become common to ignore traffic rules on the basis of influence? Why is the high speed of heavy vehicles not being controlled in the crowded gas warehouse area? Local people have demanded from the administration that strict action should be taken against such influential people so that in future no innocent child falls victim to these speed lovers.
