Rinku will enter India’s semi-finals in place of Abhishek.

New Delhi: The race for T20 World Cup 2026 has now become quite interesting. In the first semi-final played between South Africa and New Zealand yesterday, New Zealand confirmed its place in the final by defeating South Africa. Today, on March 5, the second semi-final match between India and England will be held at Wankhede Stadium at 7 pm.

Both the teams are busy preparing for this match. It is mandatory for India to win this match to become T20 champion for the second consecutive time. In such a situation, captain Suryakumar Yadav can make some changes in his playing eleven. According to reports, captain and coach Abhishek Sharma may be dropped and Rinku Singh may be given a chance to play.

Abhishek Sharma may be out

Before today’s semi-final, former head coach Ravi Shastri has mentioned India’s probable playing eleven. He has raised some questions regarding Abhishek Sharma. He believes that considering the form of the team, changes in the playing eleven are necessary. Shastri said that Abhishek has been in poor form throughout the tournament, and his performance should be judged on confidence and body language in the nets. In this tournament, after playing 6 matches, he has recorded only an average of 13.13 and strike rate of 131.15, which is worrying.

Rinku may enter

Shastri further said that in this important match, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson should open the innings, and Rinku Singh should be included in the lower order. With this he can help in settling the match. Let us tell you that due to the excellent innings of Sanju Samson against West Indies, India reached the semi-finals. Therefore the captain should show confidence in him. However, Shastri did not say anything in support of completely excluding Abhishek Sharma from playing.

Probable playing eleven for IND vs ENG

India: Sanju Samson (wk), Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Tilak Verma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dubey, Rinku Singh/Abhishek Sharma, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakraborty.
