What exactly is the case?

According to the police, actress Mrinalini Subhash Jambhale has filed a complaint in this matter. Mrinalini, who worked in Marathi theater and films, was professionally acquainted with accused Avinash Jadhav. Jadhav lured him to invest in a construction project in Dombivli by claiming to be a filmmaker and builder. The complaint states that he promised that the investment in the project would yield good returns and that the principal amount would be returned within a year.

Believing these promises, between November 2019 and February 2020, Mrinalini Jamble, Varsha Usgaonkar and three others known to them invested a total of Rs 47 lakh through checks and online transactions. Initially, Jadhav paid around four and a half lakh rupees as refund. But then they stopped returning the money.

“Do whatever you have to do”, threatened the accused

The complainants repeatedly contacted and tried to demand money, but Jadhav did not respond. On the contrary, it has been alleged that he avoided contact by changing his mobile number and address. Finally, the complainants went to Dombivli and met Jadhav and asked him about the money. However, the complainants have alleged that he threatened them by replying “I will not pay, do whatever you have to do.”

After realizing the fraud, all the complainants rushed to the Shivaji Park Police Station in Dadar on February 26 and lodged a complaint against the accused. Further investigation of the matter has been handed over to Assistant Police Inspector Shailesh Shejul and the police are currently conducting further investigations.
