Punjabi origin YouTuber Nancy Grewal stabbed to death in Canada, shock in local community
New Delhi: Nancy Grewal, a 45-year-old YouTuber of Punjabi origin, was stabbed to death in LaSalle city of Ontario province, Canada. After this painful incident, sensation has spread in the area and the local community is in deep shock. According to the police, the attack took place on Tuesday night, after which the seriously injured Nancy was taken to the hospital, but she died during treatment.
It is being told that Nancy Grewal was known for her outspoken and sharp statements on social media. He had openly expressed his opinion on many topics ranging from India-Canada relations to Khalistani issue. After this incident, the police has started investigation and the surrounding areas are also being sealed and evidence is being collected.
Police arrived on information of stabbing in Lasalle
According to LaSalle Police Service, police officers and paramedics responded to a report of a stabbing in the 2400 block of Todd Lane around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. As soon as the information was received, the team reached the spot, where Nancy Grewal was found seriously injured.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital with the help of Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services, but doctors could not save him and he later died.
Was famous for her outspoken statements on social media
Nancy Grewal was very active on social media and was often in the news due to her sharp statements. He had openly commented on the increasing tension between India and Canada. He also criticized Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as well as Khalistani terrorists.
Apart from this, she had also openly raised questions on some religious and political personalities of Punjab, due to which she had been in controversies many times.
Police expressed condolences
After the incident, the police issued a statement on social media and expressed condolences to the family and friends of the victim. The statement said, "The LaSalle Police Service expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Grewal,"
Police also said, “To address public concerns, investigators are treating this as an isolated incident.”
The area was sealed for investigation
On Wednesday morning, investigators surrounded two homes on Todd Lane between Canada Street and Bishop Street. Several evidence markers were placed on the concrete path and stairs in front of a house where police are collecting evidence.
Apart from this, during the investigation, officers have also sealed off a wooded area about a kilometer away from Todd Lane near Herb Gray Parkway, where additional evidence is being searched.
Second major incident in two weeks
This incident has come to light almost two weeks after the first murder of 2026 in the area. On February 18, a 44-year-old man was shot in the parking lot of Windsor Regional Hospital’s Metropolitan Campus.
According to police, that case was also linked to LaSalle and a suspect was arrested the same day at a home on Broderick Road.
Police asked for information from people
Police have appealed to people with information in this case to come forward. Investigators are asking anyone with information related to the LaSalle murder to contact Detective Sergeant Jamie Nestor at 519-969-5210 extension 2531.
An appeal has also been made to nearby residents to provide footage from surveillance cameras to help in the investigation.
