IPL 2026: Bengaluru will host IPL playoffs and final, KSCA confirmed

Bengaluru. The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has announced that Bengaluru will host the playoffs and final of the upcoming Indian Premier League season at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, along with five league matches. KSCA secretary Santosh Menon said the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has promised the city a much-needed playoff match and title clash, which will be a big relief to cricket fans in Karnataka.

“The play-offs will be played in Bangalore. And the biggest news is that the IPL final will also be played in Bangalore,” he said, while also confirming that five league matches have also been allotted to the same venue. He further said that the city’s cricket calendar will start with the inaugural ceremony, the date of which is expected to be announced soon, followed by the opening match, five league matches, a playoff and the final.

Santosh said, “BCCI has promised us the same, and maybe they will announce their schedule soon. We are waiting for these announcements from BCCI, Governing Council and RCB.”

Expressing confidence of a huge turnout of fans, he said, “The noise of RCB is going to echo in the Chinnaswamy Stadium again.” The hosting of both the playoffs and finals reflects Bengaluru’s status as a premier IPL venue, and the M Chinnaswamy Stadium is set to host some of the most important matches of the tournament this season.
