He holds a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from the prestigious Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra, Ranchi. His supporters consider his technical background and calm nature as his strengths. In June 2025, JDU general secretary Param Hans Kumar had publicly advised Nishant Kumar to enter politics. He said that in the current situation, the youth leadership should come forward in the interest of the party and the state. He described Nishant as calm, humble and far-sighted and said that he can prove to be an effective youth leader.

Nitish Kumar’s preparation to go to Rajya Sabha

Here, it is also discussed that Nitish Kumar is preparing to go to Rajya Sabha. According to constitutional provisions, a person cannot be a member of two houses simultaneously, in such a situation he will have to leave the post of Chief Minister to become a Rajya Sabha member. According to sources, he is preparing to file nomination and may remain in office till the Rajya Sabha elections to be held on March 16.
