‘Ted Lasso’ star Phil Dunster lands major ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’ role

Ted Lasso star Phil Dunster is set to star in Universal Pictures’ live-action How to Train Your Dragon 2 taking on the role of Eret, son of Eret.

The 33-year-old English actor will be joining Mason Thames, Nico Parker, Gerard Butler, Cate Blanchett, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Julian Dennison, Gabriel Howell, Bronwyn James and Harry Trevaldwyn in the upcoming sequel.

Dean DeBlois is back as a writer, director and will also executive produce the film.

The production is set to hit the theaters on June 11, 2027.

Production will be led by Marc Platt under his Universal-based Marc Platt Productions alongside company president Adam Siegel.

SVP Production Lexi Barta takes charge of overseeing the film for the studio.

Phil is best recognized for playing Jamie Tartt in the fan favourite sports comedy Ted Lassoled by Jason Sudeikis.

He has also starred in productions like Surface, Picture This, The Devil’s Hourand more.
