Balod. A speeding truck hit a moped rider near Ram Janaki temple under Daundi police station area of Balod district, due to which he died on the spot. After this accident, local villagers took to the road and blocked it.
According to the information, the deceased has been identified as Samsay Masiyare (age 55 years), resident of village Parsoda. It is being told that Samsay was coming from Mathai Chowk towards Daundi on his moped, when a speeding truck coming from Dallirajhara hit him hard. The collision was so severe that Samsay died on the spot.
Immediately after the accident, angry people kept the dead body on the road near Ram Janaki temple of Daundi and completely closed the Bhanupratappur-Balod-Rajnandgaon road. Due to this traffic jam that has been going on for more than an hour, long queues of hundreds of goods and passenger vehicles have formed on both sides of the road.
In view of the tense situation, along with Daundi Police, SDM and Tehsildar have also reached the spot, but the villagers are adamant on the demand of proper compensation and safety standards. Meanwhile, a CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, in which the magnitude of the accident can be clearly seen. The police have taken possession of the footage and started action against the truck driver.
