Yu Chang MLB career across four teams
Yes, Yu Chang did play in Major League Baseball. He spent several seasons moving between teams while trying to establish himself as a regular player.
Most of his time came with Cleveland. He began his professional journey when the team signed him as an international free agent in 2013. The deal included a signing bonus of $500000, which was notable for a player from Taiwan.
Chang worked his way through the minor leagues before finally reaching the majors in 2019. That year he made his MLB debut and later hit his first career home run in September.
During his big league career, Chang also played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox.
Across those teams he hit 20 home runs and finished with a .204 batting average. While he was not always a full time starter, he provided defensive versatility and occasional power.
Today Chang plays in the Chinese Professional Baseball League with the Fubon Guardians.
