New Delhi. West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose has resigned from his post. The Governor’s OSD has confirmed the news of his resignation. CV Anand has sent his resignation to the President of India Draupadi Murmu. At present there is no information regarding why he suddenly resigned from his post. A new political stir has started with the resignation of the Governor before the assembly elections are to be held in West Bengal in April or May this year. Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed surprise at the resignation of the Governor.
CV Anand Bose was appointed the Governor of West Bengal on November 23, 2002. After assuming the post of Governor of West Bengal, Bose remained vocal on many issues and was seen in conflict with the state government several times. He has been criticizing the Mamata Banerjee government on many issues including law and order, women’s safety, implementation of central schemes. CV Anand Bose, originally from Kottayam district of Kerala, has also been an IAS officer of 1977 batch. About 40 of his books have also been published in English, Malayalam and Hindi languages.
