How to charge your electric car/scooter safely at home: Simple tips
-The place where you charge also matters. The parking spot should be dry and reasonably ventilated. This is especially important during the monsoon season when water can collect in parking areas. If you have an electric scooter with a removable battery, avoid charging it on the floor. A stable table or shelf is safer.-Another common mistake people make is using extension boards. It might look convenient, but extension cables can heat up during long charging sessions. Direct connection to a good quality wall socket is always the safer option.-Most modern EVs automatically stop charging when the battery is full. Even then, it is a good habit to check occasionally. You do not need to stand next to the vehicle, but leaving it plugged in for extremely long hours is not always ideal.-Also take a quick look at the charging cable from time to time. If you notice cuts, loose connectors or unusual heat, get it replaced immediately.
