A grand comeback of ‘Heartbeats – The Music Within’ on the occasion of Ustad Zakir Hussain’s 75th birth anniversary, a special experience for music lovers

Ustad Zakir Hussain On the occasion of his 75th birth anniversary, GRACE Foundation will make a grand comeback of the unforgettable music program ❝Heartbeats – The Music Within❞ on 9th March 2026 at Rabindra Natya Mandir, Mumbai.

This concept was realized by Shri Shashi Vyas in the year 2008 from a deep thought. Accordingly, “The first sound heard by man is the beating of the heart in the mother’s womb.” Ustad Zakir Hussain immediately recognized the artistic potential of the program based on this inspiration and willingly participated.

In this program, through rhythm and music, the audience will get a deep experience of human harmony with the beating of the heart. The concept of the event, music lovers are especially keen to experience the unique confluence of music and art.

GRACE – (Gunijan Research, Art, Culture and Education) Foundation is reviving the iconic musical experience ‘Heartbeats – The Music Within’ on the 75th birth anniversary of Ustad Zakir Hussain. The program evokes that primordial touch of music, from the beat from which the first sound every human hears in life is the heartbeat of the mother’s womb.

This concept was realized by Shri Shashi Vyas in the year 2008. Then Ustad Zakir Hussain immediately recognized the artistic potential of this program and gladly participated. Their participation made the event unforgettable for music lovers.

Heartbeats brings the experience to life on stage through a wonderful fusion of vocals and instruments, where slow devotional songs soothe the mind while soaring rhythms thrill music lovers. The original program featured Ustad Zakir Hussain, Shankar Mahadevan, V. Selvaganesh, U. Srinivas and Shivamani performed in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata. There was a spontaneous response from fans in every city.

2026 – Return with new generation energy
