Vicious vehicle thief arrested in Lucknow, stolen super splendor bike recovered
Lucknow . Police have arrested a vicious vehicle thief while disclosing an incident of vehicle theft in Itaunja police station area of the capital. Police have also recovered a stolen motorcycle from the possession of the accused.
According to the police, on March 4, 2026, Sandeep Maurya, resident of village Baburi of Deva police station area of Barabanki district, had given a complaint in Itaunja police station and said that his motorcycle Super Splendor (vehicle number UP41U0223) parked in Manpur vegetable market was stolen by an unknown thief. In this regard, a case number 30/2026 under section 303 (2) BNS was registered in Itaunja police station.
Taking the matter seriously, the police team started investigation under the direction of Inspector-in-charge Itaunja. Meanwhile, on March 5, 2026, on the information of the informer, the police arrested an accused Veeru alias Javed (26 years) from Itaunja area. The accused is originally a resident of Mohalla Santnagar East, Sindhauli (Sitapur) and was currently living in Saidipur village of Laharpur police station area.
The police recovered the stolen black-red Super Splendor motorcycle from the possession of the accused. After the recovery, Section 317 (2) BNS has been increased in the case.
Police investigation revealed that the arrested accused is a vicious criminal and has more than a dozen criminal cases already registered against him, which include vehicle theft and other crimes. At present, the police is also collecting information about other criminal history of the accused. The arrested accused is being presented in the court after taking action as per rules. This arrest was made by the team of Sub Inspector Sanjay Kumar Gupta, Sub Inspector Amit Kumar and Constable Chirag Tyagi.
