New power in Indian Army: 300 ‘Dhanush’ howitzers to be inducted soon

Dhanush is a 155 mm long-range cannon developed by Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited. It includes modern electronics, firing control systems and ballistic computation technology. It is capable of firing both day and night. Also it can work with NATO standard ammunition. Can aim accurately up to 38 kilometers.

A regiment generally had 18 guns. With the arrival of 300 Dhanush cannons, 15 new regiments will be created in the army. This will increase long range firing capability in border areas and hilly areas and old weapons will be gradually replaced.
