America attacked Iran’s warship with a submarine in the Indian Ocean

Amidst the ever-increasing attacks on Israel and American bases by Iran, the US has sunk an Iranian warship with a submarine attack near the coast of Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean.

After this incident, the Sri Lankan Navy conducted a rescue operation, in which 32 people were rescued from the sinking Iranian naval ship off the southern coast of Sri Lanka and they were admitted to the hospital. Along with this, the Sri Lankan Navy also recovered bodies of 87 people from the Iranian warship sunk in the sea. It is being told that the Iranian ship was returning from the International Fleet Review organized by India.

Regarding this incident, US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth has claimed that a torpedo fired from an American submarine has sunk an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean. Hegseth told a press conference held at the Pentagon on Wednesday that the attack on the Iranian warship on Tuesday night was the first such attack on an enemy since World War II.

The US military also released a video of the attack on the Iranian warship on Wednesday. In the video, the submarine can be seen targeting a warship in the distant sea and then attacking it with torpedoes. The US Defense Secretary claimed to have sunk an Iranian warship which it thought was safe in international waters.

Congress has raised questions on this action of America in India’s neighbourhood. Congress leader Pawan Khera said India’s guest – IRIS Dena, an Iranian naval ship – was torpedoed by the US in India’s strategic courtyard while it was returning home from the International Fleet Review organized by India.

Sri Lanka, which is leading the rescue operation, claims at least 80 sailors have been killed, while around a hundred others are seriously injured or still missing.
