Ranchi: Now preparations are being made to provide medical facilities to the ministers, MLAs and former MLAs of Jharkhand on the lines of IAS-IPS officers. The Health Department has prepared a proposal related to this. Cabinet approval will be taken. After getting consent, the new system will be implemented.

All India Services officers receive medical facilities and reimbursement of medical expenses under the All India Services (Medical Attendance) Rules, 1954. Based on this rule, reimbursement of medical expenses of MLAs and former MLAs will be paid from the Jharkhand Assembly Secretariat.

Currently getting the benefits of State Employees Health Insurance Scheme: Presently MLAs and former MLAs get medical facilities under the State Employees Health Insurance Scheme. After the implementation of the new system, ministers, MLAs and former MLAs will get more facilities. They will be given the benefit of facilities available to All India Service officers.

In this matter, Health Minister Irfan Ansari said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren wishes that MLAs, former MLAs and their dependents should get better medical facilities.
