Indonesia’s Bali has been voted the world’s best honeymoon destination as part of Tripadvisor’s 2026 Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Destinations.

Mauritius off the southeastern coast of East Africa claimed the top spot last year but was pushed to the second position this year.

“Bali is a living postcard, an Indonesian paradise that feels like a fantasy,” Tripadvisor wrote.

Known for its natural landscapes, picturesque beaches, traditional culture, rich history, and ancient temples, the island is favored by tourists for newlyweds.

Couples flock to the island for private pool villas, iconic beach sunsets, vibrant culture, and relaxing spa experiences.

Maldives ranked third, followed by St. Lucia and Galle.

Vietnam’s Hue, home to royal tombs, also appeared on the list.

The 2026 Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Destinations are calculated based on the quality and quantity of reviews, specific to each award subcategory, for accommodations, restaurants, and things to do in destinations from travelers globally on Tripadvisor between Oct. 1, 2024 through Sept. 30, 2025.

The awards highlight travelers’ favorite destinations, helping people plan unforgettable trips and discover the world’s best experiences.
