LPG Rate Hike: Due to Iran War, the price of domestic LPG increased after 11 months, know whether the price will increase further?
New Delhi. Due to the interruption in the supply of crude oil due to the war between America and Israel with Iran and increase in its price in the international market, the prices of LPG have also increased in India. The price of crude oil in the international market has reached $94 per barrel. LPG is obtained from this crude oil. Petroleum companies have increased the price of domestic LPG by Rs 60 and the price of commercial cylinder by Rs 115. Due to international reasons, the price of LPG had to be increased after about 11 months. Earlier, the price of domestic LPG was increased on 8 April 2025.
The news related to LPG is also that the Petroleum Ministry has also implemented the ESMA law related to the supply of essential commodities. Besides, all the refineries have been asked to provide the butane and propane gas obtained during the refining of crude oil to the government petroleum companies. LPG is prepared by mixing butane and propane. India is importing large quantities of crude oil for its needs from Russia and other countries outside the Gulf. By refining them, gas will also be available and there will be a possibility of its price falling again in the coming days.

Earlier, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had said that there is no shortage of fuel in India. Government petroleum companies also issued statements on Friday asking the public not to panic. There is no increase in the prices of petrol and diesel as of now. However, due to the increase in the price of LPG, there has been some burden on the pockets of the general public. Actually, India does not have the facility to store petroleum products on a large scale. At present, India has ready petroleum products for 25 days and crude oil for about the same number of days. However, due to increased supply of crude oil from Russia etc., there is full hope that the crisis will not increase in future.
