New Delhi: Due to the huge increase in the prices of crude oil and gas in the international market and the ongoing fall in the rupee against the dollar, oil marketing companies have increased the prices of LPG (LPG) from Saturday. According to the website of Indian Oil Corporation, the country’s largest oil marketing company, the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 60 from today, while the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has become costlier by Rs 114.50.
Domestic LPG cylinder will be available for Rs 913 in Delhi from March 07. This is the highest level since July 2023. Its new price has become Rs 939 in Kolkata, Rs 912.50 in Mumbai and Rs 928.50 in Chennai. There has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinder after 11 months. Earlier on 08 April 2025, its price was increased by Rs 50 to Rs 853 per cylinder. The price of commercial LPG cylinder has increased from Rs 1,768.50 in Delhi to Rs 1,883, which is the highest since April 2023. Commercial LPG cylinder has become costlier for the fourth consecutive time. Six days ago, on March 1, its price was increased by Rs 28 in Delhi. From today, the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder has become Rs 1,990 in Kolkata, Rs 1,835 in Mumbai and Rs 2,43.50 in Delhi.
There has been a uniform increase in the price of LPG in all four metros. It is noteworthy that due to the ongoing crisis in West Asia, the production of crude oil and gas and the global supply chain has been disrupted. Due to this there has been a huge jump in their prices. Besides, the rupee is also at a historic low. This increase in prices has been made keeping in mind both the factors.
