Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Uncle Cracks UPSC in First Attempt

Abhishek Chauhan, maternal uncle of India’s Under-19 World Cup hero Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, achieved success in his very first attempt at the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025.


He secured All India Rank 102 and earned a place in the Indian Police Service (IPS).

A resident of Rajajan village in Samastipur district, Bihar, Abhishek is the son of Professor Dr Abhay Kumar Singh, Registrar of Nalanda Open University, and Anuradha Rajput. His achievement has brought pride to his family and community, with celebrations reported in his native village and among relatives in Dalsinghsarai.

Born on November 18, 1999, in Pusa, Abhishek displayed academic brilliance from an early age. He studied at Akshara School in Hajipur before clearing the entrance exams for both Sainik School and RK Mission. He later completed his MTech with a gold medal. In 2022, he began preparing for the Civil Services Examination and cleared prelims, mains, and interview stages in his first attempt.

Family members, including PACS chairman Ajay Kumar Singh, aunt Tanuja Singh, and cousins Anand and Anish Chauhan, expressed joy over his success. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, also shared the news proudly on social media.

Abhishek’s achievement stands as an inspiration for aspirants across Bihar, proving that determination and preparation can lead to success in one of India’s toughest examinations.
